Principal Software Engineer – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop AI Agent Frameworks: Create internal agents, LLMs, and reasoning loops that enable AI agents to execute intricate, multi-step tasks.

• Create Core SaaS Features: Build robust, full-stack enterprise web components, ensuring the application maintains high performance and security.

• Data Engineering: Oversee and enhance the connection between our AI agents and data.

• Engineering Excellence: Produce clean, secure, and maintainable code while leading thorough code reviews and refactoring projects.

• Automated Testing: Design and implement unit and functional tests to guarantee the reliability of both traditional code and non-deterministic AI processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• AI Agent Architecture: Advanced capability to construct and manage autonomous agents that can plan, reason, and carry out multi-step tasks through reasoning loops (e.g., React).

• Orchestration: Proven experience in developing the internal logic and interface layers that enable LLMs to connect with APIs, databases, and system functions.

• AI Reliability & Testing: Hands-on experience in creating automated unit and functional testing suites specifically designed to validate outputs and workflows of non-deterministic AI agents.

• LLM Implementation: Significant experience in developing production-quality features utilizing LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.), including context window management, prompt optimization, and cost monitoring.

• AI-Assisted Development: Expert-level proficiency in utilizing tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to enhance engineering speed and uphold high code quality.

• Data Layer for AI: Proficient in MySQL and relational databases, capable of writing complex, raw queries to supply high-scale enterprise data to agentic workflows.

• Backend Engineering: Over 5 years of experience with Python (Django, Flask) or PHP (Symfony, Laravel) to create the robust infrastructure necessary for AI-driven applications.

• Enterprise SaaS Foundations: Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, design patterns, and clean coding practices applicable to large-scale web applications.

• Model Lifecycle: Practical understanding of model evaluation, experiment tracking, and performance monitoring in a production setting.
