Principal Software Architect, Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Guide the team in designing and developing the next generation of video platforms.

• Assess and analyze technologies and architectural designs.

• Work alongside architects and engineers to create software designs.

• Define and implement APIs, architectural standards, and guidelines for cloud software development.

• Oversee the design review processes.

• Lead technical discussions within the community of practice.

• Communicate the functional team strategy to stakeholders.

• Keep abreast of contemporary technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• An advanced degree may replace up to two (2) years of relevant job experience.

• Over 10 years of pertinent job-related experience.

• 8 years of experience in cloud architecture and platform design.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale cloud platforms.

• Significant experience in producing technical documentation.

• Experience in researching technologies and establishing long-term technical strategies.

• Familiarity with implementing best practices for software development.

• Experience in setting up software development lifecycles.

• Proficiency with the Java technology stack, including Java SE and Java EE.

• Knowledge of WebRTC, H.264, and HLS.

• Experience with AWS services such as EKS, ECR, Aurora, S3, and KVS.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
