This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide technical guidance for a large-scale enterprise platform that supports connected instruments, cloud services, data management, and quality analytics.
• Define the overarching architecture, lead modernization efforts, and create strategies for cloud migration.
• Govern integration, security, and platform standards across various applications.
• Spearhead the transition from legacy technologies to modern frameworks.
• Design scalable REST APIs and supervise the transformation from Azure to AWS cloud.
• Ensure the platform maintains high availability, security, and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
• Produce architectural documentation and perform design and code reviews.
• Mentor senior engineers and establish best practices for software development and governance.
• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 4 years as a Software Architect or Principal Engineer.
• Expertise in enterprise software architecture and platform governance.
• Proficient in C++ and C# for Windows Services / Win32 application development.
• Familiarity with the .NET Framework (ASP.NET MVC, Web Forms, Web API, WCF).
• Experience with React 18/19 and Node.js (Express).
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Architecture (App Service, Azure AD).
• Experience with Azure AD, MSAL, JWT authentication, and Windows Authentication.
• Proficient in SQL Server database architecture, schema design, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
• Experience in planning and architecting migration from Azure to AWS cloud.
• Skilled in CI/CD pipeline architecture for .NET and Node.js applications.
• Knowledge of PowerShell deployment automation and IIS administration.
• Familiarity with security architecture (TLS 1.2+, Key Vault, AES encryption, code signing, secrets management).
• Experience in designing REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Capable of designing custom network protocols or binary/text communication layers.
• Experience in cloud modernization and the modernization of legacy applications.
• Knowledge of DevOps architecture and release governance.
• Experience in the Healthcare, Medical Device, Life Sciences, or Industrial IoT domains.
• Proven technical leadership skills, including architecture governance, code reviews, and mentoring of senior engineers.
