Principal Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• You will take ownership of one or more AWS-hosted infrastructures that deliver products to our B2B commercial clients.

• You will oversee, enhance, and troubleshoot our AWS environments, ensuring adherence to industry-leading practices for continuous integration and deployment as we introduce new product and infrastructure releases.

• You will deliver using an agile methodology alongside our customers, so familiarity with working on features for continuous testing and release is essential.

• You will assist and guide other team members in utilizing the appropriate AWS tools to scale the features we provide to our clients.

• You will play a key role in migrating a significant multi-tenant Connected Aviation web application from on-premise to the AWS cloud.

• You will be part of the on-call rotation, providing support for critical service incidents.


⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in delivering and operating complex, large-scale cloud systems (AWS preferred), supported by a degree in a relevant STEM discipline (Bachelor’s or higher required).

• Willingness to be available for team meetings as early as 9:00 AM Eastern to accommodate colleagues in the UK and India.

• A background in software engineering or strong coding skills in an object-oriented language (experience with .NET or Python is a plus) relevant to managing infrastructure as code using AWS CDK.

• Experience in managing AWS ECS clusters and working with systems hosted in SQL-based databases like PostgreSQL, as well as RabbitMQ message brokers.

• Proficiency in Bash and/or PowerShell scripting for new infrastructure components (or the ability to suggest alternative methods to bring infrastructure to life).

• Familiarity with system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning, alongside experience with AWS and CloudFormation.

• Experience with Docker containerization and Git.
