This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop technical documentation, which includes rack assembly instructions, 2D mechanical drawings, test reports, SOPs, and specifications for customers.

• Convert intricate power electronics designs into products that can be manufactured, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

• Oversee training, process development, production readiness reviews, and factory enablement for large-scale production.

• Create and maintain BOMs, specifications, test plans, cable BOMs, alternate sourcing strategies, and ECOs.

• Assemble, fit-check, and integrate complex rack systems mechanically, including liquid loop components, quick-disconnects, manifolds, and power distribution.

• Define and validate rack-level power architecture, encompassing PDU selection, power budgets, load balancing, and compatibility of global plugs and connectors.

• Engage with customers and participate in site visits to comprehend deployment constraints and gather design insights.

• Generate CAD models and fabrication drawings for weldments, sheet metal, and machined components.

• Manage relationships with mechanical component vendors and suppliers.

• Conduct advanced FEA structural analysis under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal conditions.

• Lead mechanical design reviews and cross-functional design validation efforts.

• Promote design-for-manufacturability, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.

• Execute root cause analysis and corrective measures for mechanical failures and field-related issues.

• Collaborate with compliance and certification teams to ensure adherence to global regulatory standards.

• Establish enduring design standards, documentation, and best practices for engineering teams.

• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.

• At least 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems integration is required.

• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo/Pro-E, or Inventor is essential.

• Skilled in FEA software such as ANSYS or Abaqus.

• Strong comprehension of mechanical systems, integration strategies, and program management concepts.

• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.

• Able to present information effectively and respond to inquiries from management, clients, and the public.

• Capable of evaluating projects, identifying risks, and formulating project milestones.

• Familiarity with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management is advantageous.

• Ability to mentor and coach less experienced engineers.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

• Experience in supporting product commercialization and customer interactions is preferred.

• Background in designing electrical power systems for data centers, telecom, or industrial power/cooling products is preferred.

• Experience with liquid cooling systems within racks, servers, and/or CDUs is advantageous.

• Practical experience in prototype fabrication and testing is desired.

• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for glycol-based systems is beneficial.

• An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.
