This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Take ownership of the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the identity verification platform — extending beyond vendor management.
• Develop multi-vendor routing optimization across KYC providers and their equivalents — enhancing pass rates, reducing fraud, and managing cost-per-verification as a P&L metric.
• Propel the platform towards self-service configurability, enabling product teams across the Exchange to set IDV requirements, decision rules, and vendor preferences without needing engineering support for every change.
• Provide composable IDV components — including document collection, liveness detection, facematching, and motion detection — that can function independently in various product contexts.
• Lead efforts to address synthetic fraud through liveness challenges, e-ID integrations, and ML-driven fraud scoring in collaboration with Risk and IDV vendors.
• Carefully monitor and manage false positive rates — ensuring that fraud defense does not compromise genuine users.
• Assess and plan for Non-Doc (document-free) verification and Reusable Identity solutions as significant tools for minimizing drop-off while ensuring compliance.
• Use external competitive benchmarks, such as the average KYC completion time of approximately 2 minutes at top multi-asset brokers, to guide roadmap prioritization.
• Collaborate with Compliance to manage regional KYC variations in the product, avoiding dead-end or confusing experiences for users in specific jurisdictions.
• Manage the product experience for current users who must re-verify their identity due to document expiration, regulatory triggers, risk profile changes, or periodic compliance review cycles.
• Monitor Re-KYC completion rates within grace periods, account restriction rates triggered by Re-KYC, and the time from initial prompt to approval as key success metrics.
• 6–8+ years of experience in Product Management.
• Proven track record at a high-growth technology company — such as a crypto exchange, fintech, neo-bank, or multi-asset broker — where you have personally tackled the challenges outlined in this role: identity verification, fiat payment rails, deposit conversion, or compliance-heavy product ownership.
• Specific expertise with IDV platforms, payment rail integration, or KYC/AML product design is a significant advantage.
• Technical literacy — understanding the underlying systems.
• Familiarity with payment gateway logic, ledger systems, and API integration.
• Ability to engage in discussions about multi-vendor IDV routing logic, decision trees, liveness detection architecture, and the design of composable IDV components with Engineering.
• Experience in building or managing APIs, SDKs, and developer tools as product deliverables — not merely utilizing them.
• Regulatory knowledge.
• Strong understanding of global KYC and AML standards (FATF, regional equivalents), SCA, GDPR, and local payment regulations.
• Capability to translate regulatory requirements into product specifications — and challenge when compliance is misused to justify poor user experience.
• Data-focused approach — balancing the conversion/risk/cost triangle.
• Every roadmap decision should consider the trade-offs between conversion, risk, and cost — must quantify all three dimensions and make informed trade-offs based on data.
• Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar tools for funnel analysis.
• AI-native workflow experience.
• Proven application of AI tools (such as Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini, LibreChat, or equivalents) with human-in-the-loop methodologies — mandatory, not optional.
• Strong execution and ownership skills.
• Ability to motivate stakeholders to unblock, prioritize, and deliver without awaiting direction in a decentralized, 24/7 environment.
• Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional teams and influence Legal, Risk, and Compliance without formal authority.
• History of transforming a major onboarding or payments process from a known friction point to a shipped and measurably enhanced experience.
• Competitive salary.
• Medical insurance package with extended coverage for dependents.
• Generous annual leave entitlement, including birthday and work anniversary days.
• Flexible work arrangements, including flexi-work hours and hybrid or remote setups.
• Career advancement opportunities through our internal mobility program, offering a diverse range of roles.
• Work perks: a crypto.com visa card provided upon joining.
