Principal Product Manager – Simple Trading

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of product optimization for Simple Trading in major European markets.

• Recognize local customer requirements and product deficiencies in areas such as onboarding, fiat funding, initial purchases, trading, portfolio management, savings/investments, and spending.

• Tailor product journeys to align with local payment options, customer behaviors, market standards, and regulatory demands.

• Enhance products using customer feedback, funnel analysis, experimentation, and performance data at the market level.

• Make complex cryptocurrency concepts more accessible for first-time and low-frequency retail customers.

• Optimize order entry, quote presentation, pricing clarity, portfolio overviews, average cost, P&L, transaction history, and asset discovery.

• Ensure a seamless and consistent experience across both App and Web while accommodating local market variations.

• Manage the local product funnel encompassing onboarding, funding, activation, initial purchases, repeat purchases, retention, and reactivation.

• Create long-term engagement products such as recurring buys, auto-invest, savings plans, price alerts, round-ups, and crypto collections.

• Collaborate with growth and marketing teams on market-specific acquisition, activation, and lifecycle strategies.

• Monitor and enhance key performance metrics.

• Stay informed about European retail crypto, digital banking, brokerage, payments, and savings products.

• Perform benchmarking against leading European products, particularly Revolut, Bitpanda, Bitvavo, and Trade Republic.

• Convert local customer and competitive insights into actionable product enhancements.

• Collaborate with design, engineering, data, compliance, operations, marketing, and local market teams to implement improvements.

• Shape priorities through market insights, product judgment, and data analysis without formal people-management authority.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of product management experience in consumer fintech, crypto, digital banking, brokerage, payments, savings, or investment products.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building or optimizing consumer products tailored for European markets.

• Profound understanding of European retail customers, local payment behaviors, investment practices, and market disparities.

• Demonstrated success in enhancing onboarding, activation, conversion, repeat usage, retention, or AUM.

• Strong grasp of consumer product design, product growth, experimentation, and lifecycle engagement.

• Capability to simplify intricate financial or technical products into user-friendly customer journeys.

• Solid understanding of retail crypto and digital banking products, including fiat on/off-ramps, spot buys and sells, custody services, wallets, transfers, pricing, and spreads.

• Strong individual contributor with the ability to independently identify opportunities, define solutions, and lead cross-functional delivery.

• Excellent product judgment, structured thinking, written communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent in English and comfortable working remotely across European time zones.

• Direct experience with Simple Trading, retail products, UX, or growth at Revolut, Monzo, N26, Bitpanda, Bitvavo, or Trade Republic (preferred).

• Background in European digital banking, neobrokerage, wealth management, or consumer investment products (preferred).

• Familiarity with European payment methods, including SEPA, Instant SEPA, cards, and other major local payment methods (preferred).

• Experience in launching or localizing products across various European countries (preferred).

• Background in retail payments, recurring investments, auto-invest, crypto bundles, portfolio analytics, round-ups, or saveback products (preferred).

• Knowledge of an additional European language (preferred).
