This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Define the HTS API marketplace by structuring, packaging, and pricing a portfolio that includes HTS Connect, search polygons, autocomplete, ranking, content and property mapping, room mapping, deduplication/bidding, pricing, the extranet, taxes, and the custom deals engine.
• Collaborate with capability PMs to comprehend roadmaps, constraints, and customization possibilities of the technical systems, translating them into API products that can be consumed externally.
• Oversee the business model by choosing between platform fees and variable fees, establishing the commission structure (take rate) per capability, enterprise packaging, and the framework for custom agreements with major partners.
• Create the developer and partner experience from the ground up, including API specifications, partner integration flows, documentation standards, sandbox environments, and integration tools that reduce time-to-value.
• Implement AI and rapid prototyping to quickly test ideas (API response simulations, partner portal prototypes) prior to allocating engineering resources.
• Develop the go-to-market (GTM) strategy by identifying suitable partners, sequencing launches, and defining criteria for commercial success.
• Manage the marketplace P&L by modeling and monitoring gross booking volume (GBV), commission rates, and unit economics per capability in collaboration with the finance team.
• Prioritize development milestones ranging from ongoing work (HTS Connect, Taxes) to products in scoping (Mapping, Bidding) and future capabilities (Search Polygons, Ranking, Extranet).
• A minimum of 7 years of product management experience, including at least one product developed from concept to commercial launch (0 to 1).
• Demonstrated experience in building B2B products or developer-focused marketplaces, encompassing API product design and commercial packaging for enterprise clients.
• An AI-first approach to work: utilizing LLMs and low-code/intent-driven programming as primary tools for prototyping, with experience in creating demos or functional proofs of concept (PoCs) using AI.
• Strong grasp of marketplace economics, including commissions, supply-side incentives, demand-side optimization, and the differences between variable and platform business models.
• Skills in cross-team coordination: synthesizing roadmaps and ensuring alignment without directly managing engineering teams.
• Experience working with external enterprise partners, translating business needs into product requirements and managing expectations throughout multi-phase rollouts.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with large-scale transactional datasets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in creating clear API and product documentation.
• A well-funded startup with ambitious goals, offering a competitive salary and stock options (pre-IPO).
• Hopper covers 100% of group insurance premiums.
• Coverage for life and short- and long-term disability insurance.
• Health Spending Account (HSA) for eligible medical and dental expenses.
• Unlimited access to Dialogue telemedicine services for employees and their dependents.
• Access to an RRSP with automatic pre-tax payroll contributions.
• Generous parental leave policy exceeding industry standards.
• Unlimited paid time off (PTO).
• Carrot Cash travel credits.
• On-demand access to coworking spaces via FlexDesk and a remote work allowance.
• An entrepreneurial culture that encourages boldness and risk-taking.
