Principal Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the Move Money Platform's roadmap, strategy, and global execution. Establish a multi-year vision for how Versapay integrates with financial networks (both fiat and crypto) across North America, EMEA, and expanding markets. Convert that vision into a solid roadmap with defined priorities, timelines, and measurable outcomes such as authorization rates, transaction costs, settlement speeds, uptime, and geographic reach.

• Guide engineering teams throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Manage product requirements, collaborate on technical design, oversee sprint planning, and ensure readiness for releases across the engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining the platform. Make informed trade-off decisions regarding architecture, throughput, latency, and resilience in partnership with engineering leadership and remain accountable for fulfilling commitments.

• Design and manage our network connectivity for both fiat and crypto. Develop network connections, determining which networks connect directly and which do so through processors, sponsor banks, custodians, or on/off-ramp partners.

• Ensure redundancy, resilience, and performance. Establish our fault-tolerance strategy across providers, rails, and chains. Remove single points of failure and create automated failover mechanisms and graceful degradation between fiat and crypto rails when necessary.

• Oversee compliance across networks, chains, and jurisdictions. Stay proactive regarding compliance with network and operational rules for both fiat and crypto rails. Transform these into product specifications before they become audit issues.

• Serve as Versapay’s representative to networks, partners, and regulators. Develop and sustain trusted relationships with card networks, ACH and RTP operators, sponsor banks, processors, stablecoin issuers, custodians, and on/off-ramp partners. Represent Versapay in scheme working groups, partner roadmap discussions, and regulatory engagements.

• Leverage AI to enhance network intelligence. Utilize contemporary AI capabilities within network operations for both fiat and crypto: intelligent routing, decline recovery, on-chain anomaly detection, fraud and sanctions signal integration, settlement forecasting, and operational automation. Maintain a clear perspective on where AI can enhance a money movement platform and where it should be avoided.

• Act as the in-house authority. Be Versapay’s specialist on payment networks, money movement mechanics, stablecoin and on-chain settlement, and global rail economics. Provide education to product, engineering, finance, and go-to-market teams. Brief executives and shape the broader product roadmap based on insights into the future of payment infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in payments or fintech product management, including at least 3 years leading a platform or infrastructure product from start to finish. A principal product leader with global roadmap ownership, not merely regional contributions.

• Proven experience in designing, integrating, and managing payment network connections across both fiat and crypto rails. You have successfully launched and managed direct or indirect connections to card networks and EMEA banking networks. On the crypto front, you possess hands-on experience with stablecoin settlements, on/off-ramp integrations, custody connections, and at least one production payment flow on a public chain.

• Extensive payments expertise covering North America and EMEA, involving both fiat and crypto.

• A successful history of leading engineering teams through the full SDLC. You have directed engineering pods or squads as the product lead, crafting requirements, collaborating with engineering on technical design, maintaining sprint cadence, and delivering on commitments. You are comfortable being evaluated on both engineering output and product results.

• A strong operational instinct for resilience, routing, and performance. You have developed or significantly enhanced a routing engine, failover strategy, or network performance program. You think in terms of authorization rate improvements, cost basis points, p99 latency, finality times, and uptime metrics.

• Experience in partner-facing and, when necessary, regulator-facing roles. You can represent the company in scheme working groups, sponsor bank quarterly reviews, stablecoin issuer roadmap meetings, or regulatory briefings while maintaining clarity and substance.

• AI-oriented mindset (preferred). Practical experience utilizing LLMs, ML, or agentic systems in network operations, alongside a clear stance on where AI is beneficial and where it is not suitable within the money movement process.

• Exceptional communication skills with executives and partners. You can distill complex network or routing concepts and convey them clearly to a CFO, board member, engineer, card scheme product manager, stablecoin issuer, or regulator.

• A builder mentality. Entrepreneurial, action-oriented, comfortable with uncertainty, and motivated by new initiatives where the path has yet to be established.
