
Principal Product Manager β AI Creation, Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
β’ Take ownership of the AI creation product interface: lead the generation of AI-driven assets, recommend intelligent templates, and enhance the overall user experience that transforms a blank canvas into a functional solution.
β’ Establish and implement the activation strategy: define the vision for how AI can minimize time-to-value for both new and existing users, complete with a clear north star metric and a roadmap to achieve it.
β’ Enhance the quality of AI outputs: set standards for AI-generated content within Smartsheet and collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve the accuracy and relevance of outputs over time.
β’ Develop the PLG feedback loop: refine creation processes to identify what leads users to their "aha moment," utilize that feedback for rapid iteration, and convert activation successes into expansion opportunities.
β’ Collaborate extensively across the organization: engage with engineering, design, data science, and platform teams to deliver capabilities that are both technically proficient and enjoyable to use.
β’ Establish high standards for quality and craftsmanship: define what constitutes "great" for AI-generated content in Smartsheet and hold the team accountable to these standards.
β’ Communicate effectively: simplify complex AI and growth dynamics into clear strategy narratives for executives, go-to-market partners, and the broader product organization.
β’ 8-10+ years of experience in product management, with a minimum of 2 years leading AI/ML-powered product experiences.
β’ Proven instincts in product-led growth: you have managed activation, onboarding, or self-serve growth metrics and know how to influence them.
β’ Strong curiosity about AI: you have a sound understanding of how generative AI and large language models function, enabling you to challenge the limits of what is achievable and engage in constructive discussions with engineers.
β’ Demonstrated success in delivery: you have successfully advanced complex and ambiguous AI or growth initiatives from inception to implementation and scaled them.
β’ Data-savvy: you are adept at defining success metrics, designing experiments, and making informed decisions even when data is incomplete.
β’ Sensitivity to enterprise products: you recognize the unique challenges of developing for enterprise customers while ensuring optimal satisfaction for end users.
β’ Exceptional communication abilities: proficient in written, verbal, and visual communication; you can advocate for a vision while meticulously attending to details.
