Principal Product Designer, Real Estate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Lead Craft & Quality Across the Vertical

• Establish and maintain a high standard for user interaction, UX, and visual design quality throughout all Real Estate experiences.

• Recognize inconsistencies in user experience and promote alignment among teams.

• Convert strong design instincts into clear, repeatable standards.

• Own the Design Systems & Governance for Real Estate

• Determine how the design system is implemented, extended, and governed within the vertical.

• Create clear guidelines, principles, and usage patterns to minimize fragmentation.

• Collaborate with design systems teams to guarantee coherence across OLX while accommodating vertical-specific requirements.

• Propel AI-Ready Design Foundations

• Lead the advancement of design systems and patterns into structured, machine-readable formats.

• Ensure components, patterns, and flows are crafted for AI-assisted generation and scalability.

• Investigate how AI can: Generate and validate UI patterns, enhance consistency and quality enforcement, and expedite design and build workflows.

• Be a Hands-On Craft Leader

• Design and prototype essential flows and interactions personally.

• Advocate for excellence in the final 20% of execution, where quality makes a significant difference.

• Clarify complex problems through robust design thinking and creation.

• Influence Strategy Through Design

• Shape product direction through design-led thinking, beyond mere execution.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to define what excellence looks like.

• Use design to bridge user needs, business objectives, and technical capabilities.

• Mentor and Elevate the Team

• Serve as a craft leader among designers, extending beyond a single team.

• Offer feedback, coaching, and guidance to enhance the overall quality standard.

• Foster a culture of taste, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years in product design, with experience at the Staff or Principal level.

• Proven history of delivering high-quality, complex digital products.

• Strong expertise in: UX and interaction design, visual design, systems thinking, and end-to-end product experiences.

• Extensive experience with design systems and scalable design frameworks.

• Ability to establish standards, guidelines, and governance models that teams will embrace.

• Experience in reducing fragmentation and enhancing consistency across various teams.

• Knowledge of AI/ML product design patterns, including prompt design, conversational UX, agentic workflows, human-in-the-loop patterns, progressive disclosure, and trust calibration.

• Comfortable with technical AI concepts and capable of collaborating closely with ML engineers and AI researchers on interaction models, edge cases, error states, and confidence thresholds.

• Actively utilize AI tools in your workflow, encompassing prototyping, research synthesis, design exploration, or code-assisted design.

• Strong interest or experience in AI-driven product experiences or workflows.

• Understanding of how design systems transition into structured data, tokenized systems, and machine-readable patterns.

• Willingness to experiment with AI tools in design and prototyping.

• A builder mindset - you design, prototype, and refine, rather than only directing.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong design taste.

• Capability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments.

• Outstanding communicator and facilitator who can unite people and align teams through clear, compelling design narratives.
