Principal Practice Leader – Air Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead business development, project management, and technical initiatives for air quality projects that focus on emissions quantification, carbon and climate change programs, environmental impact assessments, regulatory analysis, and compliance solutions.

• Enhance market presence through consistent client engagement, active involvement in client-oriented professional organizations, and participation in industry events through attendance and presentations.

• Serve as the technical authority on air quality issues, regulatory analyses influenced by the Clean Air Act, as well as state and local regulations, and the evolving landscape of GHG regulations and reporting programs.

• Deliver consulting services related to air permitting, including NSR, PSD, Title V, GHG, EPCRA, and state-specific pre-construction and operating permits, along with air quality impact assessments that involve dispersion modeling and health risk evaluations.

• Contribute to the development and planning of new and modified facilities, providing integrated consulting, environmental, design, and construction support for some of the largest projects across the U.S.

• Oversee project management and staff, ensuring technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentorship.

• Collaborate closely with team members throughout North America.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or a related discipline. (required)

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy infrastructure sector related to siting, permitting, and licensing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)

• Proven experience in managing permitting, planning, compliance, and environmental oversight of linear energy infrastructure projects and related fixed assets. (required)

• Demonstrated capability in overseeing the overall delivery of projects, including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (required)

• Familiarity with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) certification process, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and state-specific local permitting requirements in the Appalachian Basin, covering PA, OH, WV, NY, NJ, MD, VA, NC, and SC. (required)

• Extensive experience with FERC environmental regulations, particularly in capital project development for natural gas pipelines under Section 7c. (required)

• Knowledge of federal permitting programs such as the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 404 wetland permitting, US Fish & Wildlife Service, or US National Marine Fisheries Sections 7 and 10 consultations, and the National Historic Preservation Act for Section 106 consultations. (required)

• A valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
