Principal Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Become a key member of our global platform engineering team as a senior technical contributor focused on creating an enterprise-scale cloud delivery platform.

• Partner with architects based in North America and Europe to implement intricate technical solutions.

• Play a significant role in designing scalable and secure platform solutions that support over 50 development teams.

• Develop advanced platform and infrastructure automation solutions utilizing Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud-native technologies.

• Offer extensive technical expertise in specialized areas, influencing design decisions and aiding in implementation strategies.

• Rapidly assess, learn, and apply new platform technologies as the platform matures and grows.

• Carry out projects to transition from Jenkins and Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions.

• Collaborate with IT, Security, and Operations teams to ensure platform capabilities meet enterprise requirements and compliance standards.

• Uphold high standards of code quality through reviews, documentation as code, and adherence to best practices in platform engineering.

• Proficiently utilize AI Code Assistants to enhance skills and accelerate delivery speed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.

• Mastery of core platform technologies, including Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.

• Proficiency in Container Orchestration using Kubernetes and Helm.

• Experience with CI/CD processes, particularly GitHub Actions, and knowledge of migration patterns from other orchestration tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).

• Expertise in Cloud Platforms, specifically AWS / Azure, along with familiarity with relevant Cloud Adoption Frameworks.

• Understanding of cloud networking essentials, secrets management practices, and multi-tenant deployment strategies, including network segmentation, secure credential management, and tenant isolation.

• Strong programming and scripting capabilities in Python (required) and experience with modern software development methodologies.

• Proven ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving platform needs.

• Capacity to operate effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating strong self-direction and communication skills.

• Excellent English communication skills for effective collaboration with US-based leadership and international team members.
