This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Oversee and address network alerts utilizing network monitoring tools.
• Aid in diagnosing network connectivity problems across LAN, WAN, and wireless settings.
• Deliver first and second-level support for incidents and service requests related to the network.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and upkeep of network hardware and software (such as switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points).
• Help with network documentation tasks, including diagrams, change logs, and asset registers.
• Engage in network upgrades, patching, and configuration modifications under supervision.
• Execute basic firewall and VPN configurations as directed by senior engineers.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to address cross-functional challenges.
• Stay informed about current networking technologies and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to security policies, processes, and standards.
• Contribute to the knowledge base documentation and resources for team learning.
• Familiarity with vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti, or Aruba.
• Knowledge of firewall configurations and VPN principles.
• Experience with monitoring tools.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell or Bash).
• Awareness of ITIL concepts or certification.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking, or relevant experience.
• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Familiarity with or understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs).
• Experience in Microsoft Windows networking environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
