Principal Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Engage in presales activities, discovery sessions, technical workshops, tenders, and RFI/RFP evaluations.

• Convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions and implementation strategies.

• Architect enterprise-level solutions for Java-based distributed systems and microservices platforms.

• Develop technical proposals, estimations, architecture diagrams, delivery assumptions, and implementation roadmaps.

• Specify technology stack, infrastructure strategies, integrations, security protocols, and team structure.

• Present and advocate for technical solutions during customer discussions and stakeholder meetings.

• Assist Sales and Delivery teams throughout presales and project initiation phases.

• Lead the technical project kickoff activities and turn high-level concepts into actionable implementation plans.

• Establish architecture standards, engineering guidelines, and development best practices.

• Mentor engineering teams during the initial delivery phases and support onboarding and technical interviews.

• Perform architecture and code reviews to ensure scalability, maintainability, and security compliance.

• Tackle complex technical challenges and provide guidance to Senior and Lead Engineers.

• Drive technical decision-making while balancing business objectives, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with significant technical leadership responsibilities.

• Strong practical expertise in Java ecosystem development.

• In-depth knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.

• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems architecture.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs and event-driven architectures.

• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies.

• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

• Knowledge of application security, monitoring, logging, and observability practices.

• Experience in working with incomplete or ambiguous requirements and transforming them into technical solutions.

• Previous involvement in presales, discovery phases, solution proposals, or tender processes.

• Strong skills in estimation and solution design.

• Exceptional customer-facing communication and presentation abilities.

• Capacity to independently drive technical initiatives and take ownership of outcomes.

• Upper-Intermediate level of English proficiency.
