Principal Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Engage in presales activities, discovery meetings, technical workshops, tenders, and analysis of RFI/RFPs.

• Convert business needs into scalable technical solutions and implementation strategies.

• Architect enterprise-level designs for Java-based distributed systems and microservices platforms.

• Create technical proposals, estimations, architecture diagrams, delivery assumptions, and implementation roadmaps.

• Establish technology stack, infrastructure strategies, integrations, security principles, and team composition.

• Present and advocate for technical solutions during customer discussions and stakeholder meetings.

• Assist Sales and Delivery teams during presales and project initiation phases.

• Oversee the initiation of technical projects and turn high-level concepts into actionable implementation plans.

• Set architecture standards, engineering guidelines, and best practices for development.

• Guide engineering teams during the initial delivery phases and support onboarding and technical interviews.

• Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure scalability, maintainability, and compliance with security standards.

• Address complex technical challenges and mentor Senior and Lead Engineers.

• Propel technical decision-making while balancing business objectives, delivery timelines, and quality expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with significant technical leadership responsibilities.

• Strong practical expertise in Java ecosystem development.

• Extensive knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.

• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems architecture.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing REST APIs and event-driven systems.

• Hands-on experience with Kafka or comparable messaging technologies.

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

• Understanding of application security, monitoring, logging, and observability practices.

• Experience in navigating incomplete or ambiguous requirements and translating them into technical solutions.

• Involvement in presales, discovery phases, solution proposals, or tender processes.

• Strong skills in estimation and solution design.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in customer-facing situations.

• Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and take ownership of projects.

• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency.
