Principal Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Engage in presales initiatives, discovery sessions, technical workshops, tenders, and analysis of RFI/RFP documents.

• Convert business needs into scalable technical solutions and implementation strategies.

• Architect enterprise-level designs for Java-based distributed systems and microservices frameworks.

• Develop technical proposals, estimations, architecture diagrams, delivery assumptions, and implementation roadmaps.

• Define the technology stack, infrastructure strategy, integrations, security principles, and team structure.

• Present and advocate for technical solutions during discussions with customers and stakeholders.

• Assist Sales and Delivery teams throughout the presales and project initiation stages.

• Oversee technical project startup activities and translate high-level concepts into practical implementation plans.

• Establish architecture standards, engineering guidelines, and best practices for development.

• Mentor engineering teams during initial delivery phases and assist with onboarding and technical interviews.

• Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure compliance with scalability, maintainability, and security standards.

• Address complex technical issues and provide guidance to Senior and Lead Engineers.

• Facilitate technical decision-making while balancing business objectives, delivery schedules, and quality expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with significant technical leadership roles.

• Strong hands-on proficiency in Java ecosystem development.

• In-depth understanding of Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.

• Solid grasp of microservices and distributed systems architecture.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs and event-driven architectures.

• Practical knowledge of Kafka or similar messaging technologies.

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automation of infrastructure.

• Knowledge of application security, monitoring, logging, and observability practices.

• Experience in working with incomplete or ambiguous requirements and transforming them into technical solutions.

• Participation in presales, discovery phases, solution proposals, or tender processes is preferred.

• Strong estimation and solution design capabilities.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills for customer interactions.

• Ability to independently drive technical projects and take ownership of initiatives.

• Upper-Intermediate level of English proficiency.
