This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Oversee cultural resources projects, identify business development opportunities, and manage archaeological and historic resources projects autonomously.
• Direct field studies and organize, supervise, and lead field teams.
• Spearhead the technical and strategic components of proposal creation, encompassing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with clients and company colleagues to develop regional work.
• Assist with invoicing, staff management, and budget oversight.
• Act as the lead or principal investigator for cultural resources projects, including research, archaeological fieldwork surveys, monitoring, testing, data recovery, historical research, preservation activities, report preparation, site forms, and artifact curation.
• Oversee project mobilization and demobilization.
• Provide support for Section 106 and Section 110 of the NHPA through analysis, technical studies, and permitting for private, federal, state, local government, and Tribal clients.
• Develop regional staff resources.
• Mentor staff and project managers, offer technical and operational resources, and supervise cultural staff.
• Fulfill project scope, schedule, and budget commitments.
• Ensure high-quality technical outputs through independent and quality review protocols.
• Lead cultural resources investigations and environmental planning projects, including consultation, data recovery and monitoring plans, field coordination, regulatory interpretation, and report writing.
• Engage and coordinate with clients, agency representatives, and Tribal representatives.
• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of supervisory experience; ideally ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in cultural resource roles, including management and/or educational experience in the desert southwest and intermountain west regions; experience with architectural historians is a plus.
• Ability to utilize modern GPS technology and apply it in remote locations.
• Capable of meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail, staying organized, and effectively managing multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong professional writing and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in project planning, development, and management.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment and post-employment drug and alcohol tests.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
• Must be eligible for employment in the US.
• Preferred: licensed or able to be licensed in Oregon, Washington, and/or Idaho; consideration for California and Nevada is also welcome.
• Preferred: experience and capability providing cultural resources support across the continental US.
• Preferred: Registered Professional Archaeologist.
• Preferred: resident of Oregon or Washington.
