This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Design and oversee the development of a cohesive enterprise integration layer that facilitates canonical business domains, adaptable source system extensions, and smooth inter-vertical connectivity.
• Establish and uphold application architecture standards, principles, and best practices throughout the integration and API engineering organization.
• Create scalable, secure, and highly available API ecosystems and integration solutions.
• Lead architecture evaluations and offer practical technical guidance across various engineering teams.
• Set standards for API design, security, observability, documentation, and lifecycle management.
• Spearhead integration strategies among internal applications, ERP systems, SaaS platforms, enterprise systems, and external partners.
• Conduct domain discovery and event storming workshops with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Design and implement event-driven and message-based architectures utilizing Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, and related technologies.
• Promote the use of AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance developer productivity, speed of delivery, and quality of solutions.
• Advocate for engineering excellence through TDD, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and automated quality practices.
• Lead initiatives for modernization and efforts to reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate with platform teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and enhancing developer experience.
• Mentor architects, technical leads, and engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Act as a trusted advisor for strategic technology investments and modernization projects.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in roles such as Architecture, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Technical Leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale integration platforms and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Modern .NET patterns, asynchronous pipelines, and enterprise-scale codebases.
• Expertise in API Architecture and Enterprise Integrations.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Proficiency in Microservices and Distributed Systems.
• Understanding of Cloud-Native Architecture.
• Strong grasp of REST APIs, OpenAPI Specifications, OAuth2, OIDC, API Security, and Identity Management.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, Application Insights, and Azure AI Services.
• Knowledge of CQRS, Event Sourcing, Saga Patterns, and Distributed Transaction Management.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and enterprise observability platforms.
• Proven ability to utilize AI tools in daily engineering tasks (e.g., Copilot, code generation, LLM integration into products).
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage both business stakeholders and engineering teams with equal proficiency.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability: effectively identifying risks early, eliminating obstacles, and driving results with a high degree of autonomy.
