
Principal Engineer β GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Develop and implement the performance engineering strategy for cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
β’ Act as the expert in application performance, scalability, and observability within distributed systems.
β’ Evaluate and enhance application performance across microservices, APIs, databases, and high-transaction workflows.
β’ Detect and address performance bottlenecks that affect user experience, such as patient data retrieval, historical data loading, and real-time clinical processes.
β’ Design, conduct, and manage performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests utilizing leading industry tools.
β’ Utilize statistical analysis and performance metrics to uncover trends, predict system behavior, and offer actionable insights.
β’ Work collaboratively with software engineering, architecture, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), database, and infrastructure teams to implement enhancements in performance.
β’ Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 Performance Engineers, establishing best practices, technical standards, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
β’ Propel the automation of performance testing and its integration within CI/CD pipelines.
β’ Present findings on performance assessments, risks, capacity planning suggestions, and optimization strategies to technical leaders and executive stakeholders.
β’ Promote a performance-first engineering culture throughout the software development lifecycle.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in Performance Engineering, Performance Testing, or Application Performance Optimization.
β’ Expert-level proficiency in designing and implementing enterprise-scale performance testing strategies.
β’ Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud observability, monitoring, and performance enhancement.
β’ Strong grasp of distributed cloud-native architectures, microservices, REST APIs, and containerized applications.
β’ Experience in analyzing application performance across databases, application servers, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
β’ Practical experience with one or more performance testing tools, such as OpenText LoadRunner Enterprise (LRE), Apache JMeter, or Gatling.
β’ Strong understanding of performance monitoring and observability platforms.
β’ Experience in interpreting large performance datasets and applying statistical analysis to identify trends and capacity limitations.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey technical findings to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
β’ Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring technical teams within fast-paced, high-availability environments.
