This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Define and shape Masabi’s platform architecture, including the establishment of blueprints, standards, and best practices.
• Design and deliver scalable, resilient, and cost-effective services that align with the platform blueprint.
• Remain actively involved in coding and technical delivery, including conducting reviews and making targeted contributions.
• Identify and address complex platform challenges related to scalability, performance, resilience, and cost-efficiency.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor across engineering teams, providing support and influencing technical decisions.
• Contribute to the planning of the technical roadmap and prioritize platform enhancements.
• Assist with RFP estimation and technical scoping for intricate initiatives.
• Produce clear, high-quality technical documentation and architectural artifacts.
• Enhance the understanding and application of architecture throughout engineering and the broader business.
• Participate in and help shape technical forums and working groups, focusing on areas such as API and architecture governance.
• Extensive experience in designing and evolving distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience operating at a Principal or Staff level, influencing technical direction across multiple teams or domains.
• Comfortable with hands-on contributions in coding, design, and delivery when necessary.
• Strong expertise with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and modern infrastructure practices.
• Proven background in data architecture, including data platforms, pipelines, warehousing, or data lakes.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• Contributions to engineering standards, architectural patterns, or platform direction.
• Interest in or exposure to AI-enabled systems.
• 20 days of vacation annually (in addition to public holidays). Our office is also closed between Christmas and New Year, totaling over 28 days of vacation.
