This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +34 more states.
• Define and enhance the target architecture for FuzeRx’s primary B2B and consumer platforms.
• Lead the technical roadmap to transition outdated systems into modern, scalable, and highly cohesive architectures.
• Oversee the design and execution of the most complex technical projects, including high-volume API integrations, intricate pharmacy fulfillment logistics, and distributed data consistency.
• Act as a mentor and force multiplier for Staff, Senior, and Mid-level engineers.
• Set and uphold engineering standards across the organization, encompassing coding guidelines, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipeline strategies, and security-by-design principles.
• Collaborate extensively with Product Management, Engineering Managers, and Pharmacy Operations to ensure that technical architectures align with long-term business objectives and clinical needs.
• Work in partnership with the InfoSec team to design systems that inherently support stringent healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC2), ensuring the privacy of patient data and secure messaging.
• Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing system performance, minimizing latency, and enhancing database efficiency within our PostgreSQL and AWS infrastructure.
• Regularly assess new tools, frameworks, and AWS services, conducting proof-of-concepts (POCs) to evaluate their potential for enhancing the FuzeRx ecosystem.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Over 10 years of progressive, hands-on experience in software engineering and systems design.
• At least 3 years working at a Staff, Principal, or comparable senior architectural level, steering technical initiatives across various teams.
• Strong experience in building and scaling distributed, high-throughput, and highly available B2B SaaS or transactional systems.
• Standard business hours; expected to act as a Tier 1 technical escalation point for critical architectural outages.
• Proficient in modern cloud architectures with substantial, hands-on expertise in AWS, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with standard corporate tools (Slack, GSuite, Jira).
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical trade-offs to non-technical executives and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex distributed systems, optimizing intricate relational database queries, and establishing automated deployment pipelines.
