This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Advance the advertising decision pipeline, which includes balancing and pacing, indexing, filtering, selection, and budgeting.
• Enhance the platform's architecture to ensure it meets the scalability, reliability, security, and performance needs of our global clientele.
• Collaborate closely with the product management team to design and implement new features.
• Provide operational oversight for the platform, ensuring continuous availability 24/7.
• Work in tandem with our customer success teams to deliver value and foster growth.
• Proven experience in building and managing distributed systems within a cloud environment.
• Strong programming skills in at least one production backend language, preferably Clojure, Rust, Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Scala, or another JVM language.
• Experience in designing or maintaining latency-sensitive systems with strict response-time requirements.
• Familiarity with HTTP-based APIs and integrating production services.
• Experience working with databases, including transactional data models.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation with established escalation procedures.
• Preferred: Robust experience with AWS and/or GCP across compute, storage, messaging, networking, and IAM.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as AWS CDK, CDKTF, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Experience with event streaming or stream processing systems.
• Familiarity with observability platforms, including metrics, logs, alerts, tracing, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience in enhancing testability and minimizing feedback cycle times through unit, integration, simulation, or load testing.
• Proven ability to refactor existing distributed systems while maintaining external behavior.
• Experience with high-throughput systems that have sub-100ms response budget requirements.
• Nice To Have: Background in ad serving, auctions, pacing, budgeting, targeting, or real-time decision-making systems.
• Experience with functional programming or specifically with Clojure.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy systems while ensuring high availability of production systems.
• Familiarity with supporting globally distributed, multi-region services.
• Experience collaborating closely with product and customer-facing teams on technical product features.
