Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Advance the ad decision pipeline, which encompasses balancing and pacing, indexing, filtering, selection, and budgeting.

• Enhance the platform's architectural attributes, ensuring that our foundation delivers the scalability, reliability, security, and performance that our global clientele demands.

• Collaborate closely with the product management team to design and implement new features.

• Provide operational oversight for the platform, ensuring continuous availability 24/7.

• Partner with our customer success teams to deliver value and foster growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing distributed systems within a cloud environment.

• Strong programming proficiency in at least one production backend language, preferably Clojure, Rust, Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Scala, or another JVM language.

• Experience in designing or maintaining latency-sensitive systems that have strict response-time requirements.

• Familiarity with HTTP-based APIs and production service integrations.

• Experience working with databases, including transactional data models.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation with clear escalation protocols.

• Strong experience with AWS and/or GCP across compute, storage, messaging, networking, and IAM. (Preferred)

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as AWS CDK, CDKTF, Terraform, or similar. (Preferred)

• Familiarity with event streaming or stream processing systems. (Preferred)

• Experience with observability platforms that include metrics, logs, alerts, tracing, and infrastructure monitoring. (Preferred)

• Proven track record in enhancing testability and decreasing feedback cycle times through unit, integration, simulation, or load testing. (Preferred)

• Experience in refactoring existing distributed systems without altering external behavior. (Preferred)

• Background in working on high-throughput systems with sub-100ms response budgets. (Preferred)

• Familiarity with ad serving, auctions, pacing, budgeting, targeting, or real-time decision-making systems. (Nice To Have)

• Experience in functional programming or specifically with Clojure. (Nice To Have)

• Background in modernizing legacy systems while maintaining high availability for production systems. (Nice To Have)

• Experience supporting globally distributed, multi-region services. (Nice To Have)

• Proven collaboration with product and customer-facing teams on technical product features. (Nice To Have)
