This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for products related to data center power, cooling, and factory enablement projects.
• Execute comprehensive electrical design from generator systems to AI rack integration zones.
• Oversee and manage electrical systems for data centers, energy storage solutions, and HVAC applications.
• Create specifications, select components, route wires and cables, establish connections, and transition designs into manufacturing.
• Lead the implementation of testing processes and ensure alignment of equipment for operational excellence and reliability.
• Conduct PLD design, component selection, wire and cable sizing and routing, and establishing connections.
• Review vendor drawings and prepare BOMs, calculations, data sheets, detailed drawings, specifications, and testing plans.
• Interpret single-line and schematic diagrams, assess electrical system operations, and suggest modifications.
• Collaborate in the design and development of new products including low-voltage switchgear, power distribution cabinets, and LV panel boards.
• Lead electrical engineering design efforts and reviews.
• Test products to ensure compliance with current codes and standards, translating designs into manufacturing drawings.
• Prepare and assess short-circuit coordination studies and maintain software models reflecting actual site conditions.
• Review control panel designs and ensure adherence to UL standards.
• Identify and address gaps between concept development and manufacturing readiness.
• Collaborate with internal and external design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety, and controls engineering teams.
• Work alongside system architects to comprehend product specifications and electrical system architectures.
• Collaborate with project managers on design quotations.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with project plans and schedules.
• Monitor product delivery to ensure adherence to quality standards and schedules.
• Test, debug, and validate electrical systems while supporting manufacturing processes.
• Manage relationships with vendors of electrical components and contract manufacturers.
• Stay updated with technologies and methods for competitive, cost-effective design solutions.
• Propose potential R&D project ideas to management.
• Evaluate engineering feasibility and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with management and production staff.
• Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Over 8 years of experience in electrical design and fabrication, particularly in data center or industrial power systems.
• Proficient in ECAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical) and their integration with mechanical CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of MV/HV power distribution, lithium-ion UPS systems, and three-phase electrical infrastructure.
• Experience using electrical analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower).
• Demonstrated experience in facility-level electrical design and construction support.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as part of a global team.
• Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural guides.
• Effective at presenting information and addressing inquiries from management, clients, and the public.
• Capability to influence others, share best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
• Ability to assess projects, articulate risks, and establish project milestones.
• Familiarity with stage-gate processes in Project Lifecycle Management (PLCM).
• Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Preferred: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Preferred: Experience with data center infrastructure, including UPS systems, switchgear, CRAC units, and PDUs.
• Preferred: Knowledge of UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, and IEEE compliance standards.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience in panel fabrication, wiring, and system integration.
• Preferred: Awareness of thermal and mechanical constraints in electrical enclosure design and experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Preferred: Experience with WindChill and DevOps.
