This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee the organization’s most intricate and high-stakes modeling and analytical projects.
• Establish the modeling strategy throughout the organization.
• Propel innovative data science initiatives and elevate technical standards for model creation and deployment.
• Integrate deep learning, large language models, and traditional data science methodologies to develop hybrid models.
• Ideate, prototype, validate, deploy, and swiftly capitalize on the market potential of projects.
• Address challenges related to big data, federated learning, unstructured data, time series analysis, sequence modeling, GLMs, XGBoost, and Transformers.
• Convey data insights to clients, stakeholders, and potential partners to enhance business outcomes.
• Initiate new projects and construct reusable systems, packages, and frameworks.
• Develop team MLOps standards and best practices.
• Track model performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and overall impact; implement enhancements, resolve issues, and manage technical debt.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline with 8+ years of professional data science experience in building predictive models; or a Master’s or Ph.D. with 5+ years of similar experience.
• Proficient knowledge of deep learning, machine learning algorithms, and the fundamental Python data science ecosystem.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in engaging with non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
• Extensive experience with natural language processing, medical data, long-tail predictions, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of all phases of the MLOps model lifecycle.
• Proven experience in establishing team standards and practices to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Significant experience being accountable for the long-term impact of models, including MLOps pipelines, drift monitoring, KPI and impact tracking, incremental and long-term improvements, issue resolution, and responsible technical debt management.
• Familiarity with actuarial methods and experience collaborating with actuaries is advantageous.
• Knowledge of healthcare and medical data.
• Understanding of underwriting and claims, or forecasting long-tailed and/or rare events.
