Principal Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Implement pipelines and infrastructure in both proof of concept (POC) and production modes to facilitate the Customer Data Platform initiatives.

• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to support various combinations of platforms and infrastructure throughout the organization.

• Engage with analysts and their data sets utilizing SQL, Python, and R to enhance and troubleshoot methods for ingestion into Red Hat’s Customer Data Platform.

• Create data pipelines from diverse data sources to assist in the analysis and activation of contact acquisition, engagement, and retention programs through Red Hat’s Customer Data Platform.

• Construct data sets across data lakes such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Red Shift, Starburst, and Snowflake.

• Work in partnership with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop agile audience segments, gather data requirements, and address inquiries related to audience segmentation.

• Stay informed about data elements and the Adobe Experience Platform while maintaining and defining segment, event, and attribute rule sets.

• Coordinate with the Marketing Technology & Operations team on development tasks.

• Collaborate across the Red Hat System of Sites to facilitate digital activation throughout the customer lifecycle.

• Provide consultation to business owners on establishing and enhancing KPIs within Customer Experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with five (5) years of experience in the offered position or a similar role.

• Must possess five (5) years of experience in:

• Querying databases;

• Constructing batch and streaming data pipelines;

• Integrating data and platforms;

• Developing data sets;

• SQL, Python, or R;

• Data transformation ETL/ELT;

• Connecting customer contact data with account and product data.
