This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop, document, and uphold Axiom's enterprise data model, ensuring alignment and consistency across various systems and platforms.

• Create and enforce data governance protocols, establish data quality benchmarks, and implement associated assurance mechanisms to guarantee the reliability and integrity of the organization's data assets.

• Collaborate with the VP of Enterprise Applications to define and sustain the data architecture roadmap, including effort scoping, identification of dependencies, and alignment with the enterprise technology strategy.

• Oversee the Data Engineer; offer technical mentorship, set priorities, and facilitate professional growth.

• Act as the primary liaison for data architecture with the Product, Operations, and Data Science teams.

• In partnership with the VP of Enterprise Applications, assess and select the technology stack for AI solutions and other data initiatives.

• Work alongside the VP of Enterprise Applications and Integrations Lead to align roadmap priorities and ensure that integration-generated data adheres to enterprise data model standards.

• Engage collaboratively in the design and execution of Model Context Protocol integrations, enabling AI tools to access Axiom's information assets.

• Manage and govern the Databricks environment in collaboration with the Data Engineer.

• Establish and uphold data documentation standards, including entity definitions, lineage, ownership, and access policies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related technical field.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data models within complex, multi-system environments.

• In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality practices, including hands-on production applications.

• Proficient in SQL DDL and DML.

• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language; Python is preferred.

• Familiarity with enterprise application platforms relevant to Axiom's environment, such as Databricks, Salesforce, Workday, or similar systems.

• Demonstrated experience in leading technical staff and cultivating engineering talent.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar AI data access methodologies is a plus.

• Experience working within matrixed organizational structures that require priority negotiation across teams.

• Experience managing a team or direct report.
