Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable data models, storage solutions, and pipelines for essential product functionalities.

• Lead the advancement of our data platform to accommodate the future demands of real-time big data processing.

• Create and refine architectural roadmaps for the data platform.

• Transform product specifications into effective and scalable data architectures and implementations.

• Serve as a liaison among data science, product engineering, and stakeholders.

• Establish and adhere to data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.

• Mentor senior engineers and architects on intricate data modeling and distributed system challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in software and data architectures, particularly in designing large-scale data lakehouses.

• Expert-level proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.

• Strong working knowledge of SQL and databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Iceberg, and Athena.

• Experience with streaming and event-driven architectures for processing high-volume data using tools like Spark.

• Solid understanding of data modeling and contemporary data architectures, including data lakehouses.

• Experience in AI/ML is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to balance immediate deliverables with long-term architectural integrity while managing technical debt.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
