This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership of backend and data architecture encompassing marketing data pipelines, connector systems, platform APIs, agent/tool runtimes, and downstream product surfaces, establishing durable domain boundaries and data contracts between warehouse outputs, platform APIs, agent tools, and user-facing workflows.
• Translate unclear platform requirements into incremental technical plans that balance reliability, security, tenant isolation, developer experience, and long-term maintainability.
• Guide the development of data pipelines in accordance with the medallion architecture, enhancing data quality, schema enforcement, lineage, and curated outputs for analytics and product applications.
• Strengthen ingestion processes from external marketing platforms and related APIs, including connector and reconciliation patterns.
• Design backend services across API pathways and cloud infrastructure, defining how platform capabilities are presented through stable contracts, streaming workflows, and tool permissions.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and multi-tenant access controls across services.
• Produce high-quality, production-ready code and integrate with external APIs, cloud services, and internal microservices.
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines and infrastructure environments, incorporating tracing, structured logging, metrics, and alerting to ensure reliability, latency, and operational standards.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to internal libraries and backend frameworks, and promote consistency across the platform.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in backend, data platform, or distributed systems, demonstrating ownership across multiple services or teams.
• Expertise in Python, API design, service boundaries, asynchronous and concurrent systems, and modern testing methodologies.
• Proficient with Databricks, PySpark, Lakehouse patterns, and medallion-style data architecture, or equivalent large-scale data pipeline experience.
• Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, and CloudFormation/SAM or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• In-depth understanding of multi-tenant SaaS design, authentication and authorization, tenant-scoped data access, secrets management, and operational security.
• Experience in designing stable data contracts, schema evolution patterns, and consumer-facing data models.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Strong CI/CD experience and comprehensive knowledge of observability practices, including logs, metrics, and traces.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring, architectural decisions, code reviews, communication, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Flexible working hours and remote work options.
• Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
