Principal Architect – Data Platforms, Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure customer success by implementing a comprehensive customer data strategy and providing advisory services.

• Collaborate with the 3Cloud team on client data strategy projects.

• Develop strategic roadmaps that encompass people, processes, technology, and data.

• Showcase and lead the integration of emerging technologies and concepts within teams.

• Oversee the delivery of a wide range of data-related engagements.

• Manage project delivery teams to uphold quality standards and ensure client satisfaction.

• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and design-thinking workshops.

• Direct the design of modern data platform architectures.

• Mentor and lead implementation teams.

• Conduct assessments, analyses, and interviews to identify client challenges.

• Develop and document issues, carry out analyses, draw conclusions, and create strategic recommendations.

• Produce strategy, assessments, visions, roadmaps, and business-case deliverables.

• Cultivate client relationships at all organizational levels.

• Provide thought leadership within the 3Cloud Data Practice.

• Keep abreast of data-management technology trends and influence service offerings, capabilities, and ISV partnerships.

• Utilize advanced database systems for business, financial, and operational analysis and reporting.

• Design and assist in the development of high-performing, reliable, and scalable solutions.

• Communicate technical information effectively to both business and management personnel.

• Author, oversee, and secure approval for project design documents.

• Work independently or lead teams to design and implement solutions.

• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in database design and architecture is required.

• At least 2 years of experience with Azure technologies.

• Previous consulting experience is essential.

• Over 10 years of experience in data and analytics.

• In-depth knowledge of Data Management, Business Intelligence, and Analytics concepts.

• Familiarity with Data Movement (ETL/ELT), Data Warehousing, Azure SQL, Synapse, Azure Storage, Data Governance, Business Intelligence, and analytics.

• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Azure technologies, including SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, Azure Blob Storage, Power BI, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Fabric.

• Extensive experience in business process design and optimization relating to data and technology.

• Knowledge of Financial Valuation for Data and Analytics.

• Ability to conduct workshops with business stakeholders using Design Thinking methodologies.

• Experience in two or more areas of Data Management.

• Proficient in designing Data Management Operating Models.

• Familiarity with DMM, DAMA, and TOGAF frameworks.

• Strong skills in presentation, written and verbal communication, and facilitation.

• Understanding of Product Management is beneficial.

• Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a project team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for both technical and non-technical teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Additional experience with R, Python, algorithms, Azure ML Studio/Services, D3, jQuery, Azure Infrastructure architecture and design, and Azure DevOps is preferred.

• Relevant certifications are a plus.
