Principal Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of intricate, production-ready solutions utilizing the Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSO) and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, with an emphasis on transitioning workloads from conventional virtualization systems.

• Conduct Virtualization Migration Assessments (VMAs), engage in technical discovery sessions, and facilitate workshops to uncover customer challenges while showcasing the value of Red Hat's offerings.

• Establish strategic partnerships and become a trusted advisor to senior technical and business leaders within client organizations.

• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on OpenShift Virtualization for both customer and internal teams, providing guidance throughout design, pilot, and production implementations.

• Collaborate with customers to pinpoint challenges and obstacles to the adoption of OpenShift Virtualization, working together to meet their technical and business needs.

• Partner closely with Red Hat's product, engineering, professional services, and sales teams to guarantee an exceptional customer experience.

• Create and disseminate best practices, reusable resources, and architectural frameworks for virtualization modernization, contribute to whitepapers and webinars, and present at industry conferences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in a senior technology position such as enterprise architecture, consulting, or sales engineering, emphasizing large-scale infrastructure solutions and platform adoption.

• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware vSphere, or libvirt, including application deployment and operations.

• Considerable experience with Kubernetes and container platform implementations in large organizations, ideally with Red Hat OpenShift.

• Direct, practical experience with OpenShift Virtualization and the migration of virtual machines is crucial.

• Extensive experience with the Red Hat OpenStack Platform, including its core components, architecture, and considerations for production deployment.

• Profound data center experience involving compute, storage, and networking integration.

• Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies such as OVN, NSX-T, or Cisco ACI is essential.

• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or its derivatives, in production enterprise settings.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to understand customer challenges and foster enduring relationships.

• Availability to travel frequently to customer sites.
