This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Join a team dedicated to implementing technology solutions that align with our business strategy and enhance business value.
• Collaborate in the development of roadmaps, architectures, standards, best practice documentation, and starter code reference implementations to expedite delivery for our technology teams, particularly focusing on applied AI.
• Analyze market trends, make informed buy vs. build decisions, and evaluate costs along with their impact on targeted business outcomes.
• Design a future state architecture that supports and embraces strategies for Artificial Intelligence, APIs, data storage, cloud infrastructures, cloud services, and microservices.
• Work together with technology and business partners to optimize business applications and systems that adopt modern architecture and technologies, especially in the realm of AI.
• Create and sustain a strategic vision that aligns capabilities with the CVS Health platform, guided by key business drivers and technology trends.
• Collaborate on the development of enterprise frameworks that encourage reuse, reduce costs, manage risks, and enhance speed to market.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with technology and business partners to foster trust and influence critical business outcomes and decisions.
• Offer guidance, direction, and mentorship to engineers and other stakeholders concerning the architecture and design of their respective applications.
• Ensure that all Non-Functional Requirements (such as performance, availability, failover, scalability, security, etc.) are clearly defined, working with all parties to ensure software products meet these objectives.
• Participate in high-level estimations.
• Mentor and coach junior architects while seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and implementation.
• 15+ years of relevant work experience, including over 8 years in architecture.
• 10+ years of experience developing large-scale business applications using modern technologies and architectures.
• 10+ years of experience designing complex integrations with a focus on performance engineering and loose coupling through APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• 8+ years of experience and proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
• 6+ years of experience facilitating the implementation of north star architectures by delivery teams through mentoring, building POCs, starter code, and other collaborative efforts.
• Expert-level knowledge of architectural methodologies/best practices, business climate, and/or regulations influencing architecture decisions.
• Recognized as a technical leader with comprehensive full stack technology knowledge and expertise in one or more technical subjects.
• Ability to assess the impact architectural strategies can have on strategic business decisions.
• Extensive experience with requirements analysis, estimation, systems and application design, and testing.
• Proficient in defining architecture using the C4 model or an equivalent approach, focusing on system context, container, and component diagrams.
• Deep understanding of architectural methodologies and the establishment of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and best practices.
• A diverse technical background with significant expertise in AI/ML/Agentic AI, cloud technologies, data platforms, hybrid solutions, and scaling operations.
• Experience in requirements analysis, estimation, systems design, and application design.
