This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the complete process for evaluating, scoping, and onboarding new data sources into H1's platform.
• Conduct a structured assessment of new data sources from the ground up—evaluating schema, coverage, freshness, legal constraints, and alignment with H1's product requirements prior to initiating any engineering efforts.
• Manage field mapping from the source to H1's bronze/silver/gold layers, creating data dictionaries, entity definitions, and structural guidance for downstream teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and the Data Lake team to establish ingestion requirements, entity resolution protocols, and refresh schedules for new data sources.
• Collect requirements from client-facing teams and convert them into integration specifications; act as the authoritative source on the capabilities and limitations of a new source before product commitments are made.
• Oversee each source from start to finish: scoping → QA → entity matching → product launch, which includes product QA and communicating source capabilities and constraints to product and enablement partners.
• Work alongside the Insights team to create new taxonomies and QA processes for innovative data types.
• Set acceptance criteria and lead QA validation efforts, which include field-level fill rates, count comparisons, and cycle-over-cycle anomaly detection.
• Investigate and address data quality issues following integration, coordinating with DART and engineering when necessary.
• Transition to the maintenance team with thorough mapping documentation; your responsibility is onboarding, not ongoing maintenance.
• Generate and sustain documentation that others find genuinely useful—covering scoping assessments, field mapping specifications, and post-mortems.
• 8–12+ years of experience in data-centric roles within healthcare data firms, pharmaceutical/biotech data vendors, health IT organizations, or similar environments.
• Proven end-to-end ownership of data integrations developed from scratch—scoping, field mapping, QA, and handoff—with supporting documentation.
• Required context in healthcare or life sciences; ability to quickly adapt to new datasets and source types each quarter without needing extensive subject matter expertise upfront.
• Analytical skills to evaluate data quality; hands-on experience with tools such as VBA, R, or SPSS; SQL knowledge is a plus but not essential.
• Understanding of data lake architectures (bronze/silver/gold or equivalent) and how raw data progresses through normalization and entity resolution to a product-ready state.
• Experience in gathering requirements from client-facing stakeholders and translating them into data or product specifications.
• Background in a B2B data company, where you grasped how external clients utilized your data and where client retention influenced decisions.
• Preferred familiarity with AWS infrastructure (Athena, S3, Glue) at a query and inspection level.
• Comfortable working in Jira or Monday within a ticket-based workflow.
• Exceptional written communication skills—your documentation is clear, maintained, and genuinely utilized.
• Comprehensive suite of health insurance options, along with generous paid time off.
• Planned company-wide wellness holidays.
• Retirement plan options.
• Health and charitable donation stipends.
• Engaging Business Resource Groups.
• Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely.
