Principal AI Workflow Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Discover and assess enterprise processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Facilitate discovery sessions with business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to outline current workflows, reveal inefficiencies, and pinpoint significant automation prospects.

• Employ structured interviews, system data analysis, and workflow evaluations to quantify opportunities and agree on measurable outcomes.

• Convert business requirements into clear, actionable automation specifications.

• Design and enable Automation Workflows.

• Create and implement comprehensive automated workflows that enhance efficiency across various business domains.

• Integrate with both internal systems and external platforms while adhering to governance, privacy, and healthcare compliance standards.

• Develop solutions that optimize reliability, scalability, and usability, prioritizing practical automation methods over complex AI systems.

• Maintain thorough documentation, operational guidelines, and change management procedures for all implemented workflows.

• Foster business partnerships, communication, and stakeholder education.

• Act as a trusted advisor to functional and executive leaders, guiding them in automation strategy, prioritization, and defining value.

• Articulate solutions in clear language to facilitate informed decision-making for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Conduct training sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops to encourage adoption, build confidence, and secure long-term ownership by business teams.

• Lead change and manage adoption.

• Promote a culture of responsible automation by addressing concerns, building trust, and preparing teams for change.

• Develop and advocate for internal playbooks, best practices, and frameworks to ensure consistent automation development throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with operational, compliance, and security teams to guarantee solutions meet payer industry standards and align with enterprise guidelines.

• Establish governance, standards, and influence.

• Set enterprise automation standards, design patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and responsible use.

• Shape enterprise strategy by assessing tools, platforms, and capabilities necessary for sustainable long-term automation growth.

• Offer strategic insights to leadership based on cross-functional trends, recurring challenges, and emerging opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in workflow automation, process redesign, business systems integration, software engineering, or comparable skills and experience.

• More than 4 years of hands-on experience with AI, LLM-based agents, workflow orchestration, or intelligent automation.

• Familiarity with healthcare payers is advantageous.

• Proven ability to lead automation or digital transformation projects in complex or regulated environments.

• Established history of collaborating with business executives and driving enterprise-wide change initiatives.

• Understanding of APIs, orchestration, and integration methodologies.

• Experience with Generative AI, LLM integration, or agent frameworks.
