• Create and develop AI-driven tools to enhance productivity across both engineering and non-engineering teams (e.g., developer workflows, customer support tools, tax development, operations, compliance, and analytics).
• Build internal AI platforms, shared services, and reusable components that empower teams to construct AI-enabled applications safely and effectively.
• Design and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems that are based on internal documentation, codebases, tax knowledge, and proprietary data.
• Collaborate with DevOps, platform, and security teams to ensure that AI systems are scalable, observable, secure, and compliant.
• Integrate AI functionalities into existing Taxwell products to enhance accuracy, usability, personalization, and customer outcomes.
• Architect and develop new customer-facing products where AI serves as a fundamental differentiator rather than a supplementary feature.
• Work in close collaboration with product, design, and tax domain experts to convert real user challenges into impactful AI-powered solutions.
• Ensure AI features adhere to high standards for reliability, explainability, and trust—particularly in regulated fields such as tax.
• Design and implement agent-based systems utilizing frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, ADK, or similar.
• Assess and integrate both commercial and open-source AI technologies, including frontier models and open-weight LLMs.
• Set best practices for prompt engineering, evaluation, monitoring, and continuous enhancement of AI systems.
• Shape AI architecture and technical direction throughout the organization through design reviews and active collaboration.
• Evaluate system performance using telemetry, automated metrics, and qualitative feedback from both internal and external users.
• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a Principal- or Staff-level position.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying production AI systems utilized by real users.
• Extensive hands-on experience with LLM-enabled systems, including prompt engineering, RAG, and agent orchestration.
• Proficient in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience in integrating AI systems with practical applications, workflows, and data sources.
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding techniques (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma).
• Experience in deploying and managing systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong architectural judgment with the ability to balance experimentation and production rigor.
• Taxwell is dedicated to fostering an environment of mutual respect, where equal employment opportunities are offered to all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
