Principal AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business leaders at Mom's Meals to comprehend strategic goals, operational hurdles, and process inefficiencies.

• Perform workflow evaluations and discovery sessions to pinpoint opportunities for AI-driven transformation.

• Convert business needs into actionable AI, automation, and analytics solutions.

• Create business cases, value assessments, and implementation roadmaps for AI projects.

• Provide guidance on emerging AI technologies, trends, opportunities, and associated risks.

• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable AI solutions that adhere to company technology standards.

• Facilitate solution design sessions with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Develop AI-enabled workflows, agents, copilots, and automation solutions that integrate with enterprise systems.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, copilots, and automation solutions.

• Construct Agentic AI solutions utilizing LLMs, orchestration frameworks, and RAG techniques.

• Create reusable frameworks, accelerators, and engineering practices for future AI projects.

• Monitor, optimize, document, and continually enhance AI solutions.

• Lead intelligent automation projects using RPA and AI-enabled workflow technologies.

• Analyze comprehensive business processes to minimize manual efforts.

• Design automated solutions that integrate structured and unstructured business data.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, integration, security, and data teams.

• Ensure AI initiatives are in alignment with enterprise technology, security, data, and governance standards.

• Participate in the Mom's Meals AI Steering Committee and offer technical leadership for enterprise AI decisions.

• Contribute to shaping AI strategy, governance, roadmap, and prioritization of initiatives.

• Set standards for responsible AI, security, privacy, compliance, model oversight, and risk management.

• Assess emerging AI technologies, platforms, and vendors.

• Promote AI literacy and adoption through education, coaching, and thought leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, data engineering, automation, analytics, or a related technology field.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, or advanced analytics solutions.

• Proven experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders to address complex business challenges through technology.

• Experience leading discovery workshops, process evaluations, and solution design sessions.

• Demonstrated success in delivering technology solutions across multiple business systems and platforms.

• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, cloud platforms, system integrations, and modern data ecosystems.

• Knowledge of Agentic AI frameworks and solution patterns.

• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.

• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

• Expertise in prompt engineering and agent design.

• Understanding of AI governance and lifecycle management.

• Skills in model evaluation, monitoring, and optimization.

• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

• Knowledge of workflow orchestration technologies.

• Familiarity with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).

• Experience in business process automation and optimization.

• Skills in enterprise application integrations.

• Knowledge of API concepts and integration patterns.

• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and services.

• Understanding of secure solution design principles.

• Experience with AI deployment, monitoring, documentation, and support.

• Proficiency in SQL and modern data engineering concepts.

• Skills in data modeling and integration.

• Familiarity with analytics and reporting platforms.

• Knowledge of AI-ready data platform concepts.

• Ability to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.
