This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the architecture and technical strategy for AI functionalities within HotDocs, encompassing model management, LLM and agent orchestration, retrieval strategies, evaluation, as well as cost and latency oversight.
• Convert AI architecture into a practical delivery roadmap.
• Transition AI-driven features from prototype to production at an enterprise scale utilizing .NET Core and React.
• Promote the integration of AI throughout the software development lifecycle, which includes coding assistants, agentic workflows, test generation, code reviews, and documentation practices.
• Create evaluation frameworks, guardrails, observability metrics, and AI governance measures to ensure reliable AI deployment.
• Revamp and modernize legacy code to facilitate AI integration while enhancing scalability and reliability.
• Guide engineers through code and design reviews, collaborative sessions, informal knowledge sharing, and written documentation.
• Collaborate with product management, architecture, security, and customer-facing teams to shape the AI roadmap and make build-versus-buy decisions.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines for AI workloads, incorporating prompt and model versioning, automated evaluation gates, monitoring, and cost management.
• Guarantee that AI features effectively address customer challenges and deliver an accessible, transparent, and responsive user experience.
• A minimum of 12 years of professional software development experience, including roles as a principal, lead, or staff-level technical expert.
• Proficient in .NET Core (C#) and React (TypeScript) or comparable SPA frameworks.
• Proven track record in designing and deploying production AI solutions, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, MCP, and agentic or tool-calling systems.
• Practical experience with cloud AI platforms and services like Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry or similar alternatives.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel.
• Experience in developing and maintaining REST APIs.
• Skilled in Entity Framework and Azure SQL or SQL Server.
• Experience in assessing and enhancing AI system quality through test sets, benchmarking, human review loops, and managing non-deterministic behavior.
• Knowledgeable about web applications and AI-specific security aspects, including secure coding practices, prompt injection, and responsible handling of sensitive customer information.
• Proficient in using Git and modern collaborative workflows, such as pull requests and branching strategies.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps.
• Comfortable working in agile teams utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Practical experience applying AI tools within the software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated history of technical leadership, mentoring senior engineers, conducting design reviews, and influencing architectural and roadmap decisions.
