This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Define the technical direction for AI and oversee the architecture of AI capabilities within HotDocs.

• Convert AI architecture into a practical delivery roadmap.

• Implement AI-powered features from initial prototype to full production at enterprise scale utilizing .NET Core and React.

• Facilitate the adoption of AI across engineering through coding assistants, agentic workflows, test generation, code reviews, and documentation.

• Create evaluation harnesses, establish guardrails, enhance observability, and implement AI governance practices.

• Modernize and refactor existing code to enable AI integration while enhancing scalability and reliability.

• Guide and mentor engineers via code reviews, design evaluations, pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and written documentation.

• Collaborate with product management, architecture, security, and customer-facing teams on the AI roadmap and make decisions regarding build versus buy.

• Expand CI/CD pipelines for AI workloads, incorporating prompt and model versioning, evaluation gates, monitoring, and cost tracking.

• Ensure that AI features effectively address customer needs and deliver a responsive, transparent, and accessible user experience.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of professional software development experience, including roles as a principal, lead, or staff-level technical expert.

• Proficient in .NET Core (C#) and React (TypeScript) or comparable SPA frameworks.

• Proven experience in designing and delivering production AI solutions, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, MCP, and agentic or tool-calling systems.

• Practical knowledge of cloud AI platforms and services such as Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry or their equivalents.

• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks like Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining REST APIs.

• Skilled in Entity Framework and Azure SQL or SQL Server.

• Experience in assessing and enhancing AI system quality through test sets, benchmarking, human review cycles, and handling non-deterministic behavior.

• Awareness of web applications and AI-specific security, including secure coding practices, prompt injection, and safe management of sensitive customer information.

• Proficient with Git and contemporary collaboration workflows, including pull requests and branching strategies.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps.

• Comfortable working in agile teams utilizing Jira and Confluence.

• Practical experience leveraging AI tools within the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• A proven record of technical leadership, mentoring senior engineers, leading design assessments, and influencing roadmap and architectural decisions.
