Preconstruction Project Manager – Power Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical project development for designated pursuits from initial intake to bid submission and award.

• Coordinate teams involved in estimating, engineering, procurement, and scheduling.

• Set timelines and foster alignment and accountability among estimating, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

• Examine RFPs, technical requirements, drawings, and specifications.

• Identify scope gaps, technical risks, commercial exposures, and execution constraints.

• Develop and review assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.

• Facilitate discussions on constructability and value engineering.

• Verify engineering, procurement, and construction logic for project schedules.

• Create project execution plans.

• Generate LNTP scopes, early work packages, and cancellation schedules.

• Ensure alignment between bid, LNTP, and execution schedules.

• Aid in procurement planning for critical and long-lead equipment.

• Assist in vendor scope clarification and proposal evaluation.

• Evaluate vendor proposals for technical compliance, scope alignment, and associated risks.

• Formulate strategies to mitigate lead times, escalation, and availability issues.

• Lead LNTP handoff meetings and assist with early execution planning.

• Document and communicate decisions, commitments, and risk positions related to project development.

• Capture lessons learned and integrate them into future pursuits.

• Support the development and enhancement of PPS SOPs, templates, and tools.

• Promote consistency, quality, and accountability across project development deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in power delivery engineering or project development.

• 10 years of experience with high-voltage substations, switchyards, or transmission line projects.

• Strong understanding of EPC and design-build delivery models.

• Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and achieving alignment.

• Strong technical aptitude capable of translating design and scope into executable plans.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related area.

• Preferred: Professional engineering license or an equivalent technical credential.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting LNTP strategies and early procurement planning.

• Preferred: Familiarity with utility-scale renewable interconnections and grid infrastructure.

• Preferred: Experience with integrated pursuit schedules using Primavera P6.

• Preferred: Demonstrated success in supporting complex, multi-disciplinary pursuits.
