
Preconstruction Manager, Power Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Coordinate effectively between engineering teams, consultants, contractors, owners, and clients to outline project scope, document deviations, and ensure alignment of technical requirements from the land due diligence phase through both initial and finalized design.
• Facilitate alignment of changing owner and client inputs with design standards, budget objectives, cash flow considerations, and early schedule milestones.
• Take ownership of CDE completion alongside BOD generation and deviation management.
• Actively participate in Client contract/SLA reviews in relation to the CDE and BOD.
• Develop and manage the initial project schedule with contributions from other leadership team members, tracking project deliverables, timelines, and key milestones to guarantee team alignment.
• Supervise the review of pre-construction/design documents, initial engineering analyses, bid packages, and preliminary schedules to ensure technical compliance, constructability, and commercial viability.
• Create and sustain the pre-construction budget until it is handed over to development project management.
• Incorporate preconstruction management into the early design phase, including conceptual budgeting, cost benchmarking, value engineering, scope validation, and early identification of risks.
• Collaborate with procurement and commercial teams to assess OFCI strategies, track long-lead equipment, and evaluate preliminary cost impacts.
• Conduct organized preconstruction and design alignment meetings to guarantee clear decision-making, documented results, and ongoing progress.
• Provide advice to development and leadership teams regarding technical constraints, site limitations, cost drivers, and schedule risks during land evaluation and the initial project planning stages.
• Assist the QA/QC process by performing site observation visits and validating engineering intent during design development to ensure that deliverables are coordinated, complete, and execution-ready.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects and workstreams while maintaining responsibility for scope control, documentation, budget, and adherence to milestones.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in construction management, design, design management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in power delivery design and/or high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) substation construction.
• Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, project management, engineering, or a similar discipline.
• PE License (Preferred).
