Interconnection Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Oversee designated projects during the interconnection study process by pinpointing milestone requirements, monitoring deadlines, facilitating stakeholder inputs, and ensuring that all necessary deliverables are completed, reviewed, and submitted promptly to keep the project on track.

• Assist in the negotiation and execution of LGIA.

• Cultivate and sustain a thorough understanding of generation interconnection business practices, tariff language, and frameworks for the interconnection process.

• Analyze, summarize, and convey the results of project interconnection studies.

• Act as the primary liaison and foster robust working relationships with external interconnection stakeholders, such as utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and transmission providers.

• Create, manage, and consistently update project interconnection records within company systems.

• Lead cross-departmental coordination for the submission of materials necessary for project interconnection activities, from the interconnection application to the interconnection agreement.

• Support the coordination of payment requests and the issuance of financial security required to facilitate interconnection activities.

• Function as the interconnection subject matter expert to assist with RFP responses, offtake discussions, financing diligence, and more.

• Ensure strong organization and accountability across project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, or a related discipline.

• Experience: At least 5 years in the power generation sector, including a minimum of 3 years supporting transmission-level interconnections for utility-scale projects.

• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the capability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, and processes.

• Skills/Attributes:

• Proven knowledge of generator interconnection processes in U.S. energy markets, with direct experience in one or more ISO/RTO or vertically integrated utility regions, such as WECC, CAISO, SPP, MISO, PJM, SERC, or ERCOT.

• Capacity to manage milestones, deadlines, and deliverables across various projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify risks, assess alternatives, and propose practical next steps.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capability to maintain accurate project records, milestone tracking, and documentation.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
