Preconstruction Manager, MEP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the collaboration among engineering teams, consultants, contractors, owners, and clients to establish project scope, document deviations, and align technical requirements.

• Ensure that evolving inputs from owners and clients are aligned with design standards, budget objectives, cash flow considerations, and early schedule milestones.

• Take ownership of CDE completion and manage the generation and deviations of BOD.

• Actively participate in the review of Client contracts and SLAs in relation to the CDE and BOD.

• Create and manage the initial project schedule with input from other leadership colleagues, tracking project deliverables, timelines, and key milestones.

• Supervise the review of preconstruction and design documents, initial engineering analyses, bid packages, and preliminary schedules.

• Develop and maintain the preconstruction budget until it is handed over to development project management.

• Incorporate preconstruction management into the early design phase, which includes conceptual budgeting, cost benchmarking, and risk identification.

• Collaborate with procurement and commercial teams to assess OFCI strategies and their cost implications.

• Lead structured preconstruction and design alignment meetings.

• Provide guidance to development and leadership teams regarding technical constraints, site limitations, cost drivers, and schedule risks.

• Assist in the QA/QC process to ensure that deliverables are ready for implementation.

• Oversee multiple concurrent projects while ensuring accountability for scope management and adherence to budget.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in construction management, design, design management, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience with design and construction of data center and/or mission-critical projects.

• Proficient in electrical engineering systems and their integration within mission-critical environments.
