
Precast Drafting Quality Control Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Serve as the main quality control verifier for erection drawings and production shop tickets on designated projects.
• Act as the primary drafting liaison for project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Participate in project meetings to provide updates on drafting and address any technical issues.
• Analyze and interpret architectural, construction, and structural drawings, plans, and details from AutoCAD, Revit, and PDF files.
• Assess precast concrete shop drawings, reinforcement details, and 3D models for precision and compliance with project specifications.
• Uphold company drafting standards and implement best practices for quality assurance.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to identify and rectify design discrepancies.
• Enhance drafting workflows, model organization, and file management processes.
• Partner with project teams to ensure the constructability of designs.
• Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to drafters.
• Proficiency in modeling/drafting software tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit is essential.
• Strong preference for candidates with an understanding of precast detailing, reinforcement, connections, tolerances, and construction processes.
• Capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications.
• High adaptability and flexibility to perform tasks related to other job roles as needed to enhance overall productivity and success.
• Vocation/Technical School certification, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in precast concrete drafting, checking, BIM modeling, or a related field with a focus on quality control.
• Prior experience in leading a drafting team or mentoring junior drafters is preferred.
