This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Establish a Public Relations and Communications function from the ground up, which includes recruiting PR Managers and agencies in key regions such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Brussels.
• Execute PR and Corporate Communications strategies that align with the organization's goals, values, and brand positioning for both internal and external audiences at local and regional levels.
• Collaborate with PR, marketing, sales, and external partners to develop clear and engaging messaging and materials that support business objectives, organizational transitions, and market positioning.
• Create and implement rapid response capabilities in each region.
• Manage impactful communication forums, including executive speaking events, industry conferences, customer gatherings, and internal leadership meetings.
• Integrate AI into the communications team to enhance content ideation, creation, and scalability.
• Oversee and improve the EMEA communications channel ecosystem—encompassing earned media, owned channels, executive communications, and employee engagement tools—while innovating with new formats and technologies.
• Lead cross-functional EMEA storytelling initiatives that link daily operations to Cohere's mission, highlight customer success stories, and elevate executive thought leadership in the market.
• Utilize data-driven insights and audience research to shape communications strategies that resonate with employees, customers, partners, investors, and industry influencers.
• Collaborate with Corporate Communications on crisis and issue preparedness and response across all stakeholder groups, working closely with legal, executive leadership, and functional teams to safeguard corporate reputation and stakeholder trust.
• Act as the central hub for communications, ensuring seamless integration and consistency across internal communications, external PR, marketing narratives, and executive messaging at all touchpoints.
• 12-15 years of experience in corporate communications within a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment.
• 5+ years of experience in managing people.
• Resourceful and innovative, with a knack for thinking outside the box and finding joy in problem-solving.
• Experienced in hiring, onboarding, and managing PR agencies.
• Proficient in pre-IPO communications.
• Possess experience and/or a strong interest in policy and regulatory communications.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex, cross-functional topics into engaging narratives.
• Experience as a communications business partner or trusted advisor to senior leaders, executives, and HR teams.
• Highly organized and process-oriented, with robust project management capabilities and a proactive approach.
• Bring high levels of creativity to communications in terms of format, channel, and storytelling.
• Comfortable navigating organizational dynamics and building strong relationships at all levels.
• Thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and possess the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Reside in Europe, preferably in the UK, Germany, or France.
