
Powerline Technician – Journeyperson or 4th Year Apprentice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Install, splice, terminate, and maintain overhead and underground power cables, vaults, conduits, and associated equipment.
• Conduct troubleshooting, fault detection, and repairs on distribution systems.
• Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment, including cable pulling rigs, fault locators, splicing kits, and testing instruments.
• Perform switching and grounding of high-voltage equipment in compliance with utility safety standards and operational procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, single-line diagrams, and underground cable maps.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, utility codes, and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to efficiently complete projects.
• Respond to emergency outages and conduct restoration efforts promptly.
• Maintain precise records of completed work, materials utilized, and test outcomes.
• Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certification.
• 4th year Apprentices will be taken into consideration.
• Demonstrated experience in working with power distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, powerline construction practices, and safety protocols.
• Proficient in using locating, splicing, and testing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Capability to work on-call and respond to emergency situations when necessary.
