PostgreSQL Database Support Engineer – EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Assisting our customers’ DBA teams when they require expert support

• Collecting pertinent data and investigating issues to deliver a comprehensive analysis of your findings in an easily digestible format via email, instant messaging, or voice

• Conducting screen-sharing sessions to aid them in swiftly navigating and resolving issues

• Writing new blog posts on engaging topics for our open-source community to explore

• Responding to inquiries on our forum

• Creating new articles in our customer-facing knowledge base for commonly encountered issues

• Hosting webinars among other activities


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL-provided tools, and contribution modules

• Proficient with various tools and technologies in the PostgreSQL ecosystem

• Knowledgeable in performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning

• Familiarity with backup solutions such as pg base backup, pgBackRest, WAL-G, etc., and Point-in-Time Recovery

• Some experience with high-availability solutions (replication, routers, proxies, etc.)

• Exposure to and practice with zero-downtime procedures

• Solid understanding of monitoring requirements

• Proven experience administering Linux-based systems

• Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identifying and applying solutions for known errors, and when needed, the capacity to think creatively to resolve complex issues

• Self-motivated and eager to expand your skill set with new technologies as the industry evolves

• Availability to travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, or customer visits

• Experience working with customers in English

• Kubernetes knowledge is highly desirable
