This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as the main technical point of contact for distributors, dealers, fabricators/OEMs, and direct end-use manufacturers regarding PolySheet products.
• Serve as a liaison between the market and Engineering, conveying field insights, performance issues, and customer requirements to Engineering, while relaying engineering and product decisions back to the distribution channels.
• Partner with customers to provide design and fabrication solutions, including design suggestions, fabrication and machining techniques, and choices of materials/grades.
• Assist fabricators and OEMs by offering best practices in fabrication, guidance on tooling and machining, and troubleshooting for jobsite or production issues.
• Facilitate new product introductions by training distributors, dealers, fabricators, and end-use manufacturers.
• Conduct investigations and assist in resolving field and production issues in collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
• Aid in the preparation of code, regulatory, and industry compliance documentation pertinent to PolySheet’s target markets.
• Create training materials, manuals, and technical resources.
• Develop and present both in-person and virtual presentations.
• Keep thorough records of customer interactions, technical support inquiries, and their resolutions.
• Collect feedback from the field and channel for the Product, Engineering, and R&D teams.
• Represent the company at industry trade shows, dealer functions, and technical workshops.
• Understanding of plastics, polymers, or construction materials; experience with HDPE is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying technical information for a variety of audiences.
• Proven experience in creating technical documentation, training materials, or instructional content.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations and industry events (up to 75%).
• Preferred experience in fabrication, machining, or structural design involving polymer-based products.
• Familiarity with one or more of PolySheet’s target markets is preferred: furniture, outdoor kitchens, marine components, playgrounds, or industrial food equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory or industry standards is advantageous (e.g., NSF/food-contact, marine-grade, playground safety).
• Experience with CAD software and technical drawing evaluation is preferred.
• Prior experience in developing customer training programs (manuals, videos, presentations) is preferred.
• Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively across sales, Engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Design, or a related discipline is required (or equivalent technical experience).
• At least 3 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, sheet/plastics supply, or fabrication/manufacturing is required.
• Ability to travel to customer sites, fabrication plants, and industry events up to 75% of the time, including by air and car.
• Capacity to work in and around manufacturing, fabrication, and jobsite environments, which may include exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial materials.
• Ability to stand, move, and present for extended durations while conducting on-site training and trade show demonstrations.
• Capability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a computer or traveling.
