This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Complete the onboarding process similar to that of full-time employees at Ballotpedia.
• Acquire skills to code the Ballotpedia website.
• Familiarize yourself with and adhere to Ballotpedia’s style guide.
• Understand how Ballotpedia identifies and mitigates bias in its materials.
• Collaborate with the Policy Team alongside full-time writers and researchers.
• Investigate and write about policy issues, encompassing essential arguments, reform suggestions, legislation, regulations, case law, and state surveys.
• Support the tracking of news, legislation, and primary sources.
• Execute in-depth research projects.
• Engage in brainstorming sessions and planning meetings with seasoned staff members.
• Assist in metrics and reporting related to data collection.
• Early-career professionals, including undergraduates, graduates, law students, and recent graduates, are invited to apply.
• Candidates must be located within the United States for the entire duration of the program.
• Authorization to work in the United States for the length of the program is required.
• A well-functioning computer with Internet connectivity is essential.
• Familiarity with Google Applications is beneficial.
• A résumé in PDF format must be submitted.
• A cover letter including contact details for two professional references is required.
• A neutral writing sample, no longer than five pages, should be included in the same file as the cover letter.
• The résumé or cover letter must feature the current address of the applicant.
