This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, draft, and evaluate policies to ensure they align with the needs of stakeholders, subject matter experts, industry standards, and organizational objectives.

• Perform gap analyses against industry frameworks and regulatory standards to suggest improvements to policies.

• Work in collaboration with security engineers, compliance officers, and business managers to ensure policies are technically robust and operationally feasible.

• Convert technical security concepts into clear, concise, and accessible documentation tailored for various audiences.

• Partner with stakeholders to revise CISO policies during annual lifecycle updates.

• Review and provide input on policies and standards for teams outside of the CISO.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, law, economics, or a similar field.

• Over 8 years of professional experience within the IT sector.

• More than 2 years of experience in technical writing focused on policy analysis or in a related position.

• Familiarity with AI tools and capabilities relevant to technical writing.

• Solid understanding of NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and other pertinent security frameworks.

• Ability to simplify complex technical ideas into clear, concise, and actionable language.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for various audiences.

• Strong research abilities, enabling significant contributions to lifecycle updates.

• Excellent collaboration skills, capable of working effectively within both technical and non-technical teams.

• Understanding of security governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) processes.

• Must be qualified and able to secure a sensitive clearance – Position of Public Trust.

• All applicants must be US Citizens or possess permanent residence status (Green Card).

• Candidates must have resided in the United States for the last 5 years.

• Must not have spent more than 6 months outside the United States in the past 5 years, with military service being an exception.
